When I co-founded DNSFilter in 2015, we made one bet: stop threats at the very first moment, before anything happens. Today, we're taking that bet further than we ever have.
We're launching LUMINATE by DNSFilter™ from the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square. It's our DNS-first, AI-powered security platform: Five product suites on one engine, covering Advanced Filtering, Behavior Analytics, AI Governance & Controls, Encryption & Privacy, and Threat Intelligence.
We built it because the size and complexity of the job DNS has to do has changed. Our customers aren't protecting a building full of desktops anymore. They're protecting people who work from anywhere, AI tools that showed up without asking, and AI agents that make their own connections. Staying great at one thing while the problem grew around us was never going to be enough.
We had a choice: bolt on more products and hope they talked to each other, or build out from where we already stand.
We built out. That’s LUMINATE. Every suite is built on one agent, one console, and one intelligence model. Every decision starts at or before DNS. And it works alongside the security tools you already run. No rip and replace.
If you've followed DNSFilter for a while, you might wonder whether this is a pivot. It isn't: It's the same bet we made when we started this company more than 11 years ago, only bigger.
The bet was simple: Every connection begins with a DNS request. A person clicking a link, a laptop on hotel Wi-Fi, even an AI agent making requests on someone's behalf. Before any of them reach anything, they ask where to go. That question is the earliest moment to protect users, so that's where we make it.
Stop a threat there and it never becomes one, no payload, no breach, no incident to clean up.
Filtering is what we're known for. But the job was never filtering. It was protecting people: the ones who click, and the IT and security teams who answer for it when they do. Our job is to stop threats before they ever become that second group's problem. That's why LUMINATE goes further than filtering.
That idea now runs across more than 57,000 organizations and 6,000+ MSPs, and it blocks more than 235 million threats a day. Every one of those is something that didn't happen to a user.
