Today I am pleased to announce a significant investment in the DNSFilter MSP Partner Program: More resources, a stronger support structure, and a clearer path to growth, all grounded in how MSPs actually run their businesses. If you’re already a DNSFilter partner, this is for you. If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, now is a good time to take a closer look.
One of the reasons we're making this move now is that the data is impossible to ignore. We surveyed more than 100 DNSFilter MSP Partners, and the new research revealed the scale of the commercial pressure MSPs are navigating: 85% of the MSP leaders we surveyed admit there's a security capability they can't effectively deliver today and many are spending more time stitching tools together than stopping threats.
The financial impact is direct:
The tools MSPs would reach for to defend their clients keep getting more expensive and harder to staff, right as the threat landscape is becoming more complex.
Here’s the common thread we keep coming back to: These attacks operate at the DNS and web layer, before the endpoint agent can intervene. By the time an endpoint agent sees a threat, the user has already clicked, the page has already loaded, and the resolution has already happened. That gap shows up in the research too. 38% of MSPs say they cannot effectively deliver protection against AI-generated threats today, and 30% say they cannot deliver network-level visibility beyond the endpoint.
Our 2026 MSP Research surfaced one more gap that I believe is the real opportunity: 47% of MSP leaders cannot effectively deliver security posture reporting for compliance or cyber insurance purposes. That’s the second-largest capability gap in the market, behind only advanced threat detection. For MSPs serving finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and legal clients, that gap is both a risk and a missed revenue opportunity.
DNS filtering sits at the intersection of all of it. It blocks threats before they reach the endpoint, catches them an average of 10 days earlier than feed-driven tools, and satisfies compliance reporting with minimal manual lift. Phishing infrastructure and malware command-and-control resolve through DNS first, which means we block them before they reach the endpoint, or your ticket queue.
The MSP community is where cybersecurity protection actually gets delivered to the businesses that need it most. With this next chapter in our program, we’re putting more resources, more people, and more structure behind the partners who are growing with us.
When we launched in 2015, cloud-based DNS security tools were built for enterprise IT teams with dedicated staff, large budgets, and the luxury of complexity. MSPs had none of those things. So we built what they told us they needed: a multi-tenant dashboard, white-label reporting, per-user pricing, and PSA integrations that fit the workflows they already used.
In the last year we made our biggest MSP investment yet, acquiring the MSP-focused Zorus and launching CyberSight (User Behavior Analytics) to give you full URL visibility, help accelerate incident response, and regain control of SaaS application usage. Our acquisition of Zorus was just our first step toward reaffirming our commitment to MSPs.
Our recent survey made the demand clear, but the numbers only tell part of the story. The new DNSFilter MSP Partner Program is also inspired by direct feedback from many of our 3,500 MSP partners, the people who use DNSFilter every day and know exactly what they need to grow.
Every MSP using DNSFilter, whether direct or through a distributor, is welcomed as a DNSFilter Partner. Whether you’re buying direct or coming through N-Able or Pax8, all three partner tiers—Select, Accelerator and Strategic—get access to the DNSFilter Partner Edge Portal with white-label campaign assets, self-paced training, and volume-based pricing. There’s instant approval and benefits from day one: We enroll you the moment your account activates.
Standardized pricing across every tier and no long-term contracts means licensing cost stops being the reason you can’t extend security coverage to your full book. Given that 49% of you told us licensing is the single biggest obstacle to growing security revenue, this matters. Every partner sets their own margin, while white-label dashboards with automated executive reporting let you show clients exactly what you’re protecting them from each month, supporting both retention and upsell conversations.
Accelerator Partners, by application or invitation, get a named account manager, sales engineer support for demos and POCs, MDF, and a dedicated business review each year to make sure we’re actually helping you grow. Also by invitation, with our Strategic partners, we go all in together: custom enablement, training, joint selling, co-marketing, ongoing MDF, and a team dedicated to your security services revenue alongside yours.
"DNSFilter has been a core part of our security stack for years, and this new MSP program reflects exactly what we've always valued about this partnership, a team that understands how MSPs operate and builds programs to match. For Mainstay, DNS protection isn't optional; it's a non-negotiable first layer of defense for every client we onboard. Having a partner program that reinforces that model with the right pricing, support, and tooling makes it easier for us to deliver consistent security outcomes at scale."
— Rick Dupuis, Sr. Manager, Technical Solutions, Mainstay Technologies
The product, the platform, and our commitment to making it operationally simple for MSPs to deploy, manage, and bill for DNS security at scale. White-label dashboards, reports, and block pages remain standard. Automated executive summaries showing threats blocked, policy compliance, and category trends are there for the MSP-to-client reporting conversation. API and Rewst templates for scripting onboarding, offboarding, and allow-list changes are still there for partners who want to automate further.
